چکیده
In this work, the beads and powder potassium hydroxide (KOH) carbonate (K2CO3) supported on alumina oxide (Al2O3) were successfully prepared via incipient wetness impregnation technique. Herein, perforated hydrophilic materials (PHM) made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) was used as catalyst reactor bed. The catalysts investigated using TGA, XRD, BET, SEM-EDX, TPD, FTIR while spent analyzed XRF ICP-AES to study its deactivation mechanism. catalytic performance of KOH/Al2O3 K2CO3/Al2O3 evaluated transesterification waste cooking oil (WCO) biodiesel. It found that optimum conditions for reaction 1:12 oil-to-methanol molar ratio 5 wt.% at 65 °C. As a result, mesoporous size yielded 86.8% 77.3% 2 h’ time fatty acids methyl ester (FAME), respectively. revealed utilization PHM increase reusability up 7 cycles. Furthermore, FAME produced confirmed by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopic From finding, showed promising convert WCO or known

Transesterification of Waste Cooking Oil for Biodiesel Production Using Modified Clinoptilolite Zeolite as a Heterogeneous Catalyst
Reduction of fossil fuels sources, increasing of pollution gases emission, and global warming effects increase the demand of renewable fuels. One of the main candidates of alternative fuels is biodiesel. Biodiesel limits greenhouse gas effects due to the closed CO2 cycle. Biodiesel has more biodegradability, lower combustion emissions such as CO, SOx, HC, PM and lower toxicity than petro diesel...
متن کاملTransesterification via Direct-Ultrasonic Irradiation of Rubber Seed Oil with Waste Materials Based Heterogeneous Catalyst
Present process of transesterification faces various challenges. The most challenging is to obtain high conversion rate when using high free fatty acid (FFA) feedstock. The aim of this study is to investigate transesterification process of rubber seed oil (RSO) through direct-ultrasonic irradiation (UI) with addition of waste material based heterogeneous catalyst. The waste material based heter...
متن کاملEsterification of Waste Cooking Oil Followed by Transesterification by CaO Nanoparticles: Application of Taguchi Methodology
In order to produce biodiesel from waste cooking oil and optimize its yield, a two-stage process of esterification/ transesterification has been used in this study. First, we used the acidic catalysts H2SO4 in order to diminish the content of free fatty acid (FFA) in oil that caused reducing the oil acidity from 6.1% to 0.57% through esterification. Then, the biodiesel was produced by transeste...
متن کاملBiodiesel Production via Transesterification of Low Grade Cooking Oil over Heterostructure Nano Particles of Ni/Mg/Al2O3 Catalyst
Biodiesel which were synthesis from transesterification reaction in the present of heterogeneous base catalyst has been intensively studied over the last decades. This catalyst has an excellent result in producing high percentage conversions of biodiesel without further purification and cleaning process which contribute to the water pollution and high water content in biodiesel product. So, thi...
متن کاملEfficient Synthesis of Biodiesel From Waste Cooking Oil Catalysed by Al2O3 Impregnated with NaOH
Due to the high price of virgin vegetable oils and the drawbacks of the homogeneous catalytic transesterification, in this work an economically profitable alternative process was proposed for biodiesel synthesis in which transesterification of the low-cost waste cooking oil (WCO) with methanol in a heterogeneous system was done. Alumina impregnated with sodium hydroxide was utilized as a solid ...
